My vet visit

I had to go to My Vet last Friday for my annual check and vaccinations. I also had blood tests, because I am an OLDER CAT and Lynettea worries about me. My Vet said that I was so good, he couldn't get over how good I was. When we got back into the reception area the Vet Nurse especially said to Lynettea how good I was. The Nurse could scarcely believe how good I was.

Lynettea thinks I am a hero, but I felt rather frightened. She gave me a cuddle when I went back into my travel cage in case I was nervous. It was nice to go home and even the taxi didn't seem so bad, so I didn't bother to MIAOUWWW all the way, as I usually do. It might have been disappointing for the taxi driver that I didn't MIAOUWWW. I think they get a bit of a thrill driving me usually, as they can enjoy a concert on the way.

My Vet rang a little while ago to tell Lynettea that she has to buy me some special food. Not to worry, he said, but it would help me stay fit and make some of my readings better.
This nice picture of a waterlily in my pond makes me feel cool.

Sleep Meme. I am letting Lynettea write this!

By Lynettea: I am letting her write this. If she gets some practice she might be able to do a blog of her own one day.
this is a meme from Adan's mummy Michico.

1. How long do you sleep each night? This varies depending on how early I get to bed. Diamond tries to force me to go to bed earlier, because he is worried about my health. What would I do without him?

2. Do you fall asleep easily?
Yes. Usually.

3. Do you fall asleep at times not in your bed?
Yes, particularly when watching TV.

4. Do you listen to music or use white noise to sleep?
No.

5. Do you sleep through the night or get up a couple of times?
I usually get up at least once, but rapidly fall asleep when going back to bed. Poor Diamond sometimes gets disturbed by this. I worry about him.

6. Do you have trouble sleeping away from your own bed?
I sleep better at home, guarded by my Diamond.

7. Do you need an alarm clock to get you up?
Sometimes, or sometimes I just wake up. Diamond doesn't usually wake me up, as he likes to sleep in as late as possible.

8. Do you ever take medication to help you sleep?
No.

9. Do you/have you slept with pets?
Only one cat. I tried to keep him off the bed, but could not succeed. At first he slept at the bottom of the bed, but is now all over the place including the centre. I have to push him down with my legs when getting into bed to make room for me. He also likes to get under the blanket when it is cold, so walks over the top of the pillow and expects me to raise the blanket so he can get under.

He seems to use the bed more than I do. He thinks of it as his own and that he lets me use it some of the time. He sleeps there under his artificial wolfskin on cool days and otherwise on his pet futon placed on the top of the bed. I have to carefully arrange some cushions for him to rest against.

NOTE BY DIAMOND

I do sleep outside sometimes in the day and sometimes at night, particularly when it is hot at night. I like the cool night breeze on my furs when it is hot weather.

I am tagging Keisha the Spaniel's mummy to do this meme.

About the dog

You may remember I told you that the nuisance Burmese cats, Jai and Wallis, from next door took their humans to a new home. Now a dog has moved in where they used to live.
She is not very intelligent and appears to think she is a cat. She doesn't look at all like a cat.
Here I must apologize if there are any extremely tall cats with rough looking ginger fur reading my blog. I don't mean to offend you.
Recently I took Lynettea out for a dose of fresh air in the evening. It perks her up a bit to get out, so I try my best. I was scanning the street through the picket fence when I suddenly saw the new dog ,'Orla,' taking her humans for their outing. Orla stopped right in front of me and snuffled under the gate with her big nose and then jumped up and down whining.
Her humans said to Lynettea that Orla wanted to play with me.
Little does Orla know that I don't usually play with other cats, particularly if I think they are dogs pretending to be cats.
The next day when she went past I stayed further back and looked into the distance ignoring her. It is cruel to give false hope, I find.

Happy New Year 2009

Happy New Year kitties! I have put Adan's beautiful card on my blog. Thank you very much Adan.

I have been frustrated with all the cards on top of the dresser, as I like to jump there before leaping to the fridge and then the very top of the dresser. It is awkward trying not to topple all my cards to the floor.

Quite a lot of cat Christmas cards as well as Santa and the Reindeer. The Reindeer will be having a rest now and tucking into a lot of lichen. This will give Santa some quality time to spend with his kitties before getting into the toy production for 2009.

Happy New Year Santa! Thank you for the gifts. I am still trying to work out what to do with some of them. Lynettea is having a good time playing with the little blue ball you sent me. One of the other toys got lost after she tossed it under something. Maybe she is waiting for me to locate it for her to have another game.
Where did you find the fluorescent fur for the little creatures with ears?
