Orla

Do you remember my dog friend Orla from next door? When she first moved next door with her humans she used to look at me through the cracks in the fence, but they all got nailed up and she couldn't see me any more.

When she took one of her humans for a walk she would sometimes see me through the pickets (when I was exercising Lynettea) and get very excited and snuffle through the gaps at me. It worried me that she was obviously so devoted to me when I couldn't return her passion.

Most days Lynettea carries me up and down the street so I can check that everything is okay. I got sick of trying to control her on the lead, as it is too difficult. At least if she is carrying me I have her under observation and from up higher I get a good view. We sometimes go and look at Orla through her front gate. She is always so excited to see me. She rushes from the back of the house and whirls around and around with her tail waving.

Yesterday I was out in the street with Lynettea carrying me as usual when we saw Orla's male human servant was getting into his car. He started shouting, 'Get back inside Orla,' and when we turned around there was Orla bounding up to us. Maybe he was concerned that I would injure his precious dog, but I quickly reassured him. Lynettea bent down so Orla could touch my nose with hers. She was really excited to be so close to me and I also felt a pang. I am not sure if it was affection or pity for the poor creature. When she bounded away up the drive she touched my nose again and then she had to go inside.

After that excitement we continued our walk up the street for a little way and then came back home.

wORRIed

I am more worried about going away. I have been busy putting up another haiku hint, but can't remember now what number I am up to. Maybe 7? I think I am feeling rather worn out and need a lot more attentions than I am getting.

Haiku hint 6

I have been really busy and have already added Hint 6 to my Haiku hints page. Lynettea has been rushing around so much that I have had a lot of time to myself to work on the hints. She probably thinks I have been sleeping. I hope tomorrow I get to go out into the sunshine for a while, as it is nice weather here now. Not too hot and not too cold.

Haiku hint 5

I am rushing to think of my haiku hints now and have put hint 5 on my haiku hint page. I hope some of you are finding these hints helpful. I will try to think of some more useful hints.

Haiku Hint 4

I have just put haiku hint 4 into my Diamond's Haiku Hints page. I am trying to concentrate on this, because I don't want my mind to dwell on my holiday. (holiday!!!!???)

hoTel

I overheard Lynettea talking to someone I know. and I think I am too old now for a short holiday break. Even if it is in the Spare Room at the cat hotel. Even if I do get to take my little striped toiletries bag with my medicines and my brush. Even if I do get roast chicken every day. How do I know that they would give me roast chicken? They could be saying anything just to pacify me.

Lynettea says I will not be able to take the lounge, where I am currently sleeping during the evening, as it would be too difficult to shift it, as she doesn't have a furniture truck or anyone to load it in and take it out.

I hope she will decide that I am just too old and she has to stay with me all the time. Except to go hunting at the supermarket.  I don't think I am up to catching roast chickens and even the bag of my crunchy food is too difficult for my paws to open.

New Haiku hint

I have put haiku hint 3 on my new page of haiku hints. Lynettea says I should ask you whether you can understand the hints as I put them on the page. If you have any questions then perhaps I can try to explain it better.
I am not getting much time to work on putting my hints up, so I am sorry they are slow to arrive. It gives me some more time to think about what to say. Please ask me any questions you like.
Lynettea says I have plenty of time to think about the answers, as all I do is snooze and eat. I think she is having a joke at my expense, as she knows that I am sitting meditating or composing haiku when my eyes are shut.
Sometimes I do sit wondering when she is going to take me out, or when she will get a plate of fresh roast chicken for me. My brain is so busy that it needs constant nourishment.

My new page of haiku hints

I have started a page on writing haiku hints. Lynettea thinks my explanations may be rather too long. I have only put on two hints so far. But I think it is a good idea to really explain things, so other cats will really know what to do.
More hints as soon as I can get my paws to the keyboard. Let me know if you understand these first two hints or if they are too long for you.

Four Chinese cats have looked at my blog this week. Ni hao ma?

Some matters of interest

I would like to thank Keisha for writing some haiku on Lynettea's blog. I wonder if cats and any friendly dogs would be interested if I put some handy tips for writing haiku on my blog.
and the second thing is that I looked in my statistics about visitors and noticed that two Chinese cats had looked at my blog that week. I hope it was Chinese cats that were looking, not security agents. That would make me feel nervous and interrupt my sleep.
I like to have a good sleeping pattern. Lounge during the evening, preferably in a position handy for patting, sun-deck during most of the day, bed or cosy after the lights go off.

Writers Week

Lynettea went to Writers Week for a while today to check out if there were any cat writers. At least that is what I assume. Apparently it was a total washout, as no cats had accepted invitations to attend. So only humans were there. She heard a lady speaking about her book on China. The lady was saying how people in China use the internet a lot now.
Lynettea wondered why the Chinese people she spoke in to China said they couldn't see my web site. Lynettea told me that maybe it is regarded as subversive. I do try to be nice to people and cats, of course  - when they are not coming on to my territory, so I am not sure why anyone would think I am subversive.
Will I need to reflect on my behaviour?

helping out Lynettea

I put some of my haiku on Lynettea's blog. I am not sure if she knows they are mine, but I felt sorry for her, as no-one was putting any haiku for her challenge. That just goes to show how unreliable humans can be. Diamond's haiku on the haiku blog
It would be better not to tell her they are my haiku as she might be embarrassed to find I had felt sorry for her.
I might put them on my own blog later if she doesn't notice. Although they are not moon haiku except one.
Meanwhile I will find a quiet corner to take a nap ....
