Thinking of kitties in danger

I am lying here thinking of kitties who may be in danger in the dreadful storms.  We keep hearing news of Florida and have a friend there. But this is not the only place. Keep safe everyone. Look after your humans and take care yourelves. We hope animals are also considered in the rescues and evacuations.

From what I am seeing on the news, it appears that Florida is doing a much better job than most states. I heard that nearly ALL of the hotels are accepting pets (whether they originally did or not, many are waiving their "no pets policies during the hurricane). My sister-in-law who lives in Plantation has some sort of "storm room." She is taking a neighbors 3 cats, another neighbor's 2 birds, and she has 3 cats and a dog herself. I am not comfortable with a "storm room" but they had it built for this purpose. I am wondering what they will do when the dog has to go to the bathroom and whether she has enough litter boxes. This is what they are doing. I feel they should evacuate, but now she can't since she is helping neighbors who can't take their pets by taking in their pets for them. catchatwithcarenandcody
We have lots of pals in the path of Irma, and we are very worried for them all - and not all of them are able to evacuate.

Meowing from Florida here... Mom took us to a safe place, though our city, TAllahassee, ended up with little storm damage. Many shelters here do accept pets. Mom's workplace, where we went, was one such place.
